Epicercyon Kuwert, 1890
К.; Ryndevich, S. K.
Hydrophilidae. A total of 155 species from 5 families of Hydrophiloidea (Helophoridae Leach, 1815, Georissidae Laporte, 1840, Hydrochidae C. G. Thomson, 1859, Spercheidae Erichson, 1837, Hydrophilidae Latreille, 1802) have been recorded in the Eurasian subtaiga (mixed forest) fauna. The family Hydrophilidae includes the majority of species (73 %) from 5 subfamilies (Hydrophilinae, Chaetarthriinae, Enochrinae, Acidocerinae and Sphaeridiinae). The subfamily Sphaeridiinae exhibits the greatest taxonomic diversity (3 tribes, 1 subtribe, 15 genera, 4 subgenera, and 57 species). The subfamily Hydrophilinae is represented in the study region by 4 tribes, 7 genera, 7 subgenera, and 34 species. Nearly a fifth of the superfamily’s species are members of the family Helophoridae (21 %). The former subgenus Epicercyon Kuwert, 1890, previously synonymized, is here elevated to the generic rank. Differential characters and the identification key are provided for seven species inhabiting the mixed forest zone. The greatest taxonomic diversity is noted in the fauna of Eastern Europe (94 species from 21 genera) and the East Asian subtaiga (82 species from 23 genera). Among the provinces in the subtaiga zone, the greatest number of hydrophiloid species is known from the Baltic (82), Poozersk (80), and Predpolesie provinces (82), while the smallest number is found in the Kama (66), Ufa-Sylva provinces (56), and the Pacific (island) sector (59). The taxonomic composition of Hydrophiloidea species in the East Asian subtaiga is characterized by a small number of species in the families Helophoridae and Hydrochidae, but a greater number of genera and species in the family Hydrophilidae than in the western parts of the zone.

В.; Nesterova, O. L.; Mormysheva, E. V.
The genetic structure of beetles of the Chrysomelidae family is of interest as a tool for taxonomy and phylogeny, since the number of chromosomes, their size and morphological features are more or less stable and species-specific characters, in addition to the existing molecular data. Studying chromosomal rearrangements within taxa allows us to assess the direction of evolutionary processes and speciation patterns in the context of individual regions. The data on the karyotype presented in literature cover only a small fraction of the world’s fauna. This is also reflected in the poor cytogenetic study of leaf beetles inhabiting the territory of Belarus and adjacent territories. Based on available literature data, a summary table for Belarusian species has been compiled, indicating the karyotypes assigned to them and the authors who described them. Currently, chromosome numbers have been determined for 131 species, accounting for 36 % of the total number of leaf beetle species in Belarus. The most studied subfamilies of leaf beetles are Chrysomelinae and Galerucinae, which are characterized by a haploid number of n = 12. Among the subfamilies, there is a diversity of sex determination systems, as well as polymorphism of the karyotype of individual species, such as Chrysolina aurichalcea and Lema cyanella. Based on available data, six subfamilies were analyzed to determine the degree of similarity of karyotypic characters and compare the results with the existing phylogenetic data. The subfamilies Chrysomelinae, Cassidinae, and Galerucinae form more distinct clusters based on the similarity of a set of characters within taxa. The remaining subfamilies do not form clear clusters on the graph, and some of the points overlap closely with each other, which is due to both the similarity of individual characteristics and the insufficient amount of data on karyotypes within the groups.

(Hemiptera: Heteroptera)
Г.; Naiman, O. A.; Kazulka, M. H.
The fauna of specially protected natural areas of Belarus has been studied for many years. The National Park “Belovezhskaya Pushcha” (the Belarusian part of Białowieża Forest) is one of the most thoroughly studied protected areas for insects, but data on the species composition of several major taxonomic groups within the National Park remains incomplete. Among the understudied species in this region are hemipterans, or true bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), whose species list continues to expand regularly. Eleven (11) species of true bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) belonging to five families are reported for the first time from the National Park “Białowieża Pushcha” - Galeatus affinis (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1835), Kalama tricornis (Schrank, 1801) (Tingidae), Xylocoris formicetorum (Boheman, 1844) (Anthocoridae), Graptopeltus lynceus (Fabricius, 1775), Taphropeltus contractus (Herrich-Schäffer, 1835), Stygnocoris fuligineus (Geoffroy, 1785), Pionosomus opacellus Horváth, 1895, Eremocoris podagricus (Fabricius, 1775), Megalonotus sabulicola (Thomson, 1870) (all belonging to Lygaeidae), Syromastus rhombeus (Linnaeus, 1767) (Coreidae), Microporus nigrita (Fabricius, 1794) (Cydnidae). Information on the locations of their occurrence, as well as brief information on their distribution, biology, and ecology, is provided. Megalonotus sabulicola is recorded for the first time as a new species in the fauna of Belarus. Xylocoris formicetorum, Taphropeltus contractus, and Eremocoris podagricus are of interest as rare or poorly studied species. Taking into account these new records, the fauna of true bugs in the Belarusian part of Białowieża Forest currently comprises 212 species. Further research will help expand the taxonomic composition of the region’s true bugs.

(Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)
Л.; Mormysheva, E. V.; Nesterova, O. L.
Beetles of the Chrysomelidae family are a widespread group both in the world fauna and on the territory of Belarus. This family is characterized by great morphological and ecological diversity, which necessitates clear systematization of taxa. Another problem is the establishment of evolutionary relationships between close groups. To solve these issues, the characteristics and features of the karyotype can be used as an effective feature complementing morphological features. Chrysomelidae exhibit a wide variety of chromosome numbers and morphology, including within individual genera, which further enhances the effectiveness of karyotyping in taxonomy and speciation. The greatest contribution to the field of karyology of various groups of leaf beetles was made by the work of foreign entomologists, mainly in the second half of the twentieth century. Some authors have attempted to compile phylogenetic trees based on the possible evolution of karyotypes. Currently, the available data cover only a small part of the known species. The current state of study of leaf beetle karyotypes is characterized by pronounced unevenness. It can be noted that the karyotypes of leaf beetles in the study, due to the wide diversity of this group in Belarus. Many karyotypes described in literature also require additional study due to the lack of description of the morphology of the nuclear apparatus. The data summarized in this work demonstrate the potential directions for the development of this field of research. fauna of Belarus and adjacent territories have been insufficiently studied, as well as the small number of publications on this topic among domestic authors. Despite the small number of works on this topic, it has high potential for further.
